Vykdydama pasyviąją politiką, karinė vadovybė turi būti pasirengusi atsakyti į žiniasklaidos paklausimus ar padaryti trumpą pranešimą, norėdama išvengti painiavos, spėlionių, nesusipratimų ar netikslios informacijos, kuri gali tapti vieša, jei nebūtų atsakyta į žiniasklaidos paklausimus.
